Senior School Teacher-Librarian

Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School is seeking to employ a suitably qualified, enthusiastic and experienced person to undertake a full time maternity leave position as the Senior School Teacher-Librarian. This position is a full-time fixed term position commencing Monday 16th July 2018 until Friday 28th June 2019.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach students from Year 7 to Year 12.  As a Teacher Librarian the successful applicant will be expected to promote the love of literature, teach research skills and information literacy as well as to work in a collaborative team in a dynamic and well-resourced Library & Information Centre.

Applicants should possess appropriate teaching and librarianship qualifications. The ability to teach one middle school English class would be an advantage. All teachers’ at Ivanhoe Girls’ Grammar School must be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Digital Services Librarian

The Digital Services Librarian is responsible for managing the Access-It Library Management System, maintaining and developing the Library Webpage and LibGuides, uploading and disseminating digital curriculum resources, cataloguing services, overseeing the overdue resources and stocktake processes, library supervision duties and providing customer service to the school community.

We are seeking the services of an engaging and enthusiastic Teacher Librarian, with the capacity to
assist the Library Resource Manager with the organisation, operation, service delivery and supervision of the Library Resource Centre.

Experience in development and implementation of information skills programs,
resource-based learning programs and information literacy and literature programs in
Secondary Schools will be advantageous. A background in digital literacies is preferable.

This is a part-time (0.4 FTE) fixed-term position, replacing a staff member on parental leave,
commencing the week of 16 April 2018 and concluding the week of 24 June 2019.
