Branches

One of the strengths of SLAV is its strong and active Branch structure.

When you join SLAV you also join one of 22 regional and metropolitan branches which meet regularly throughout the year.

Your local branch

  • gives you the opportunity to connect with peers in your region.
  • provides you with professional learning and collaborative opportunities.
  • gives you a voice through your local branch representative at SLAV Council meetings.

Our next Council meeting is on: Saturday, March 16th

New Branch website coming soon!

Where:    Sandringham College – Junior Campus at 356 Bluff Road, Sandringham.

VIP Information:    Sandringham College has 2 campuses and Google usually defaults to the other campus.  Please ensure you go to the Junior Campus at 356 Bluff Road, Sandringham.  Please park in the carpark and walk around to Admin and sign-in before you head to the Library.   This is indicated on the map/word/pdf attached (They are the same).

Theme:    Information Literacy programs – how are schools teaching Information Literacy in the Digital Age?  Sandringham College have recently introduced Information Literacy programs with a focus on Digital Literacy and Chelsea Quake, Head of Libraries will take up through what they are doing.  It would be great to hear what other schools are doing, so if your school does teach any of this, please bring along your ideas/lesson plans, etc to share.  If there any primary schools that are planning to attend, please let me know so other primary schools can be encouraged to attend.  We could possibly spilt into two groups to facilitate this.

RSVP:    Robyn Stark via email: rjs@stbedes.catholic.edu.au  by Monday 27th May. If possible, please let me know if you are able to contribute to the IL topic.
