October - Book Talking

There is a correlation between the richness of the reading environment in which readers live and the richness of the talk about what they’ve read. Aidan Chambers Tell Me: Children Reading and Talking, PETA, 1993

This forum will explore how we talk about books in reading programs and to English classes or individuals when we are trying to capture their interest and ensure they want to read the book no matter what!

How do we give a great book talk? We will discuss hints and tips and listen to a panel of highly skilled book talkers discussing their best book talks and strategies for encouraging book talk among students.
