This series -High Impact Libraries Online will showcase and explore the various ways school libraries operate to support learning and teaching through online systems and programs and online strategies and tools. Each session will explore a different area of the online school library offering examples of practice and experienced speakers.

Creating Digital Pedagogy Toolkits

Why don’t more teachers take advantage of the digital resources and tools school libraries offer and recommend? What can be done about this? In this session, we answer these questions by looking at digital pedagogy and, specifically, how to create a “digital pedagogy toolkit” for teachers. A digital pedagogy toolkit is a highly practical way of (1) boosting teachers’ awareness, interest, and usage of digital tools and resources, and (2) assisting teachers to integrate digital tools and resources into the classroom in meaningful and effective ways.

Speaker

Chelsea Quake is a Melbourne based teacher-librarian with 10 years’ experience managing school libraries. Prior to entering the school system, she worked in university libraries as an online services and technical librarian. Chelsea is a passionate advocate for school libraries as change agents and trailblazers, especially in the areas of differentiated teaching and learning practices, and new and emerging technologies in the school setting.
