  SLAV COUNCIL MEETINGS 2026

  SLAV State Council meetings in 2026 will be held either at the Abbotsford Convent, or online.

  There are three meetings during the year that are held at the Abbotsford Convent:

  • Council Planning Day - Feb 7
  • Council meeting and the Annual General Meeting - May 2
  • Council meeting and Think Tank for future planning - Oct 10

  All other Council Meetings are held online and a link will be sent in the week prior.

  This session will focus on book clubs, shared reading, literature festivals and author visits and will include guest authors Fiona Woods and Shivaun Plozza.

  Join us for this session that will also include a segment on what is new and soon to be published, with Mia from the Sun Bookshop.

  Each session in the ‘About’ series, offers a practice-oriented deep dive into either reading, books, or literacy. You will gain practical, actionable insight and skills, that can be applied directly, to improve your school library or professional practice.

  SLAV Full Day Conference

  Trade Exhibition

  Registration is open for the trade exhibition spaces at the SLAV November 20 2026 conference.

  The package includes a space for company representatives in the exhibition area with a table, one or two chairs, room for two pull up banners and catering for one or two.

  Registration cost - $750 for two representatives, $650 for one representative

  The package does not include:

  • Adding flyers or items to the delegate bag which is $295
  • Selling resources or items from your exhibition table

  To add items to the delegate bag only, complete the registration form and deliver bag insert to SLAV by November 6 2026. An address will be provided prior to the time.

  SLAV Conference Trade Exhibition Cancellation Policy

  If SLAV cancels the conference event trade exhibitors will receive 100% refund.

  If exhibitors cancel more than 60 days prior to the event, they will receive a full refund because their place can be offered to someone on the waitlist.

  If exhibitors cancel within 60 days of the event, they will receive 50% of the refund, and 100% if their place is filled by another exhibitor.

  Within 30 days of the event there will be no refund unless their place is taken up by another exhibitor.

  Booking terms and conditions

  • Payment must be received a minimum of seven days before the conference except by arrangement with SLAV.
  • Cancellation may result in an administration fee of 25%. 
  • No refunds available in the last seven days, however, substitute members may attend if from the same school.
